Roma confirmed they are ready to terminate Adriano's contract after he failed to attend a medical. “He is indefensible and unprofessional.”
The club had already warned of disciplinary action when the player, who had been in Brazil for treatment to a dislocated shoulder, repeatedly delayed his return to Italy.
L'Imperatore finally flew in this week, but angered the Giallorossi again by failing to turn up to a planned medical today.
“It's true, the player did not turn up and will be given a heavy fine,” declared director Gian Paolo Montali.
“We tried in every way possible to look after this man when he came to Roma, but now the problem is that he is unprofessional.
“Adriano is indefensible.”
The next logical step is for his contract to be terminated by mutual consent, as Adriano already has offers from clubs in Brazil.
