Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri was sent off for dissent and vented his fury. “If that isn't a penalty, then what is?”
The tactician has already protested on numerous occasions this season and was again angry after the 0-0 draw with Brescia this afternoon.
Giuseppe Mascara appeared to be felled in the box by Panagiotis Kone, but the referee awarded a free kick against the striker.
“If that isn't a penalty, then what is?” blasted Mazzarri when watching the replays.
“Mascara is literally hacked down from behind. It's clear as day. We've done everything we can, but this season there are two different ways of reading incidents.
“People can say it was just one incident, but as we saw with the one that allowed Milan to take the lead last week, football is made of these moments. They change the game.”
Napoli were title contenders, but have now dropped to third place after picking up one point from the last two games.
“Let us not forget that we have had to do without Ezequiel Lavezzi for three rounds. It would be like taking Zlatan Ibrahimovic off Milan. Especially with home games, where you need a spark to break the deadlock, someone like Lavezzi can be decisive.”
