Roma director Gian Paolo Montali said it was “important we end our rapport with Adriano in the right style.”
This afternoon the club announced it had terminated its contract with the player by mutual consent after a series of problems and missed appointments.
“It was important we end our rapport with Adriano in the right style, without any loose ends,” said Montali.
“There has always been great respect between us and him, so we finished things in the best possible way.
“We thank Adriano and his agent for their behaviour in this time. He was unable to settle into our project, partly through no fault of his own.”
L'Imperatore is expected to return to Brazil, where he is said to have several offers.
