Roma impressed with Montella

Roma have been so impressed by Vincenzo Montella's short stint in charge of the team that they are considering appointing the rookie on a permanent basis.

The 36-year-old is unbeaten in Serie A since taking over from Claudio Ranieri and led Roma to a 2-0 win over Lazio in the derby at the weekend.

Roma's prospective new owner Thomas Di Benedetto apparently has his own ideas about who should guide the club next season and Montella is yet to figure on his list.

However, it's proving more and more difficult to ignore his candidacy considering the turnaround in Roma's fortunes under his management.

Montella has nine games left in Serie A and a Coppa Italia Semi-Final in which to impress his future employers.
