Clarence Seedorf admits Milan must rediscover their form and now “hope Inter make a mistake.”
The Serie A leaders fell to a surprise 1-0 defeat at Palermo last night, meaning the gap could be cut to just two points today if Inter beat Lecce.
“There is a great deal of anger within the squad, as we were unable to finish off our chances and were also quite unlucky,” said the Dutchman.
“We gifted Palermo the winning goal. Now we mustn't think too much about this game, as it is lost and there's nothing we can do about it.
“Now we hope Inter make a mistake, but if that doesn't happen, then we'll still be two points clear and will play the derby to go +5.”
That head-to-head is on April 3, straight after the break for international duty, and Milan go into it with one point from their last two games.
“We paid a heavy price for defensive errors against both Bari and Palermo,” continued Seedorf.
“There are moments during a campaign when things don't go your way. We need a little more luck and to have a clear head without pressure, as they are necessary to get the ball in the back of the net.”
