Antonio Cassano has reportedly asked his teammates to help make Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone forgive him.
The 28-year-old has been frozen out the squad since the beginning of the month after he fell out with Garrone.
Cassano notoriously refused to accompany him to an awards ceremony and then had a heated argument, which prompted Sampdoria to ask that his contract be rescinded.
Tuttosport understands Cassano has asked Sampdoria captain Angelo Palombo to request a meeting with Garrone and act as a mediator between the two parties.
Cassano has repeatedly apologised but to no avail.
Sampdoria's lawyer produced a document this week in which he outlined the club's decision to take act with the player's 'insubordination'.
