Moris Carrozzieri's two-year doping ban has expired. “I never thought of giving in, thanks to the support from Palermo.”
The defender failed a drugs test for cocaine in April 2009, but was handed a minimum wage contract to stay with the Rosanero throughout his ban.
“It is so wonderful to be back,” he said. “I have to thank my family, my girlfriend, the fans, my teammates and obviously President Maurizio Zamparini.
“He made sure I never felt alone, immediately renewed my contract and there is a special rapport with him.
“Now it is up to me to pay back Zamparini's faith.”
Carrozzieri's ban expires this week, although he is not yet in match fit condition.
“I am still only 70 per cent, but on Saturday I will play for the youth team. I do a double training session in the morning, then train with the squad in the afternoon.
“I want to put this horrible time behind me and hope Delio Rossi can throw me into the mix soon.
“I never thought of giving in, thanks to the support from Palermo.”
