Alessandro Nesta has underlined how vital Zlatan Ibrahimovic is to Milan's Scudetto bid this term.
Ibra was a surprise signing from Barcelona over the summer and his goals, as well as assists, have catapulted the Rossoneri to the top of Serie A.
"He is a really important player for this team," the veteran Italian defender noted after the Swede scored in last night's 1-0 win over former club Inter.
"He can keep hold of the ball, he runs around a lot and pressurises opposing defenders. He really is a good player."
The derby win over the Nerazzurri has seen Milan gain first place in the standings – one point above Lazio and five ahead of Napoli.
"It was an important victory as we went six points clear of Inter and we hadn't beaten them in a derby for a little while," Nesta continued.
"We were missing a night like that and fortunately it arrived.
"Even after we were reduced to 10-men, following the dismissal of Ignazio Abate, we didn't really run any risks."
