Atalanta have dismissed the possibility that Gigi Del Neri will leave Juventus for the Bergamo outfit at the end of the season.
"His return is absolute fantasy football," sporting director Gabriele Zamagna told Radio CRC this afternoon.
Del Neri's future is in doubt as he's unlikely to lead Juventus into the Champions League and Napoli's Walter Mazzarri continues to be associated with the Old Lady.
However, Del Neri stated on Sunday that he is sure that he'll remain at Vinovo. "My chances of staying? 100 per cent," he stated.
The links are also somewhat surprising as Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono will automatically have his contract renewed thanks to the club's Serie A promotion.
Del Neri spent two seasons at the Stadio Azzurri d'Italia in 2007-08 and 2008-09 before leaving for Sampdoria.
