Inter are the most likely summer destination for Riccardo Montolivo of Fiorentina, says the Corriere dello Sport.
The Viola captain could leave the Tuscan outfit this summer given that talks over a new contract have stalled.
The Italian international is only tied to Fiorentina until June 2012 and there is a risk that if the Viola don't get him to renew then he could leave for nothing next year.
Juventus have been strongly paired in recent weeks, but the Rome-based newspaper is suggesting that the Nerazzurri are now in pole position.
However, the report adds that Fiorentina may decide to reject an approach in a repeat of their stance with Luca Toni in 2006 and Adrian Mutu in 2008.
In those cases, Inter wanted Toni and Roma made an offer for the Romanian.
