Bologna boss Alberto Malesani will move to Genoa over the summer, reports in Italy are suggesting.
President Enrico Preziosi will show Davide Ballardini the door at the end of the season and Malesani will be his successor.
Malesani has refuelled his reputation after keeping crisis-hit Bologna in the top flight this term despite their financial troubles.
It's understood that Malesani has been preferred to Varese boss Giuseppe Sannino and Gianluca Atzori of Reggina.
An official announcement may be made this week, although Preziosi could decide to wait until after Sunday's final game against Cesena.
