Delio Rossi acknowledges “Inter are stronger on paper, but Palermo want to make history” in the Coppa Italia Final this evening.
The Sicilians have only ever reached this stage twice before, losing the 1974 Final to Bologna on a penalty shoot-out and falling 2-1 to Juventus in extra time in 1979.
“We are excited and hungry to give our fans a great moment of joy,” he said on trying to win the club's first ever trophy.
“Inter were Champions of Europe until Saturday night, when Barcelona took the trophy, while they are still the Club World Cup holders and won the Treble last term.
“They added to an already strong squad with new players in January. Inter are stronger on paper, but Palermo want to make history and we have extraordinary qualities.
“We have everything it takes to put the Nerazzurri under pressure. We can't wait to get on that field and give 110 per cent.”
Kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome is at 20.00 UK time.
