Barcelona B side Coach Luis Enrique is increasingly the hot favourite to take over at Roma with a meeting next week.
The former Spain international is currently in charge of the reserve team who play in the second division.
Didier Deschamps confirmed talks with the Giallorossi, but reports are intensifying that Luis Enrique is the man for the job.
He plays his final home game of the season today and is set to meet director Walter Sabatini over the next few days.
“I like Luis Enrique and know him as both a person and a Coach. He is ready to achieve great things,” said Italy legend Sandro Mazzola on Tele Radio Stereo.
The veteran also commented on Barca's 3-1 Champions League Final triumph.
“I don't think Barcelona are the best side of all time, but they do have exceptional players. Barca need to be put under pressure in their own half, as if they start to keep possession then it's over. There was simply no contest against Manchester United.”
