Allegri describes Milan target

Milan Coach Max Allegri has given a cryptic description of their top transfer target. “Full head of hair, EU passport, 1.83m tall...”

The Scudetto winners have made it clear they want a left-sided midfielder with names like Marek Hamsik and Gareth Bale suggested.

“Who is our top target? Full head of hair, EU passport, 1.83m tall, a robust physique and excellent feet,” Allegri told Milan Channel.

The description seems to rule out players like Udinese's Kwadwo Asamoah, while it could point towards Tottenham star Bale.

“Hamsik can become an exceptional player, but he is not top of our list. As for other strikers, we have six now and do not need an understudy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Paulo Ganso is a trequartista and I'd have to train him in order to know what he can do.

“I have learned a great deal from being near Adriano Galliani during negotiations. He confirmed what a great director he is and it was wonderful that he asked me to participate in this.”

There have also been reports that Antonio Cassano will leave after just six months at San Siro for more playing time at Fiorentina or Napoli.

“Milan are not Sampdoria,” warned Allegri. “He was the star there along with Giampaolo Pazzini. There are many stars at Milan and a lot of competition, so there's the risk you'll be left out.

“Cassano scored four goals and made eight assists after two months off the field, so I am happy with his contribution.”
