Stefano Pioli claims that he had no hesitation is accepting the job of replacing Delio Rossi at Palermo.
Pioli was confirmed in the role earlier today after he signed a two-year contract with an option for a third.
"When a great club like the Rosanero knock on your door, you can't really take into consideration any other offers," he stated.
"You have to immediately say yes when a club like this and a President such as Maurizio Zamparini call.
"I'm enthusiastic about this opportunity and this new adventure which is giving me sensations that I have never experienced before.
"To arrive at such a place is something that fills me with honour. You can work well here and reach important objectives."
Pioli was targeted by the Rosanero after he successfully kept little Chievo Verona in the Italian top flight.
He also spoke about becoming the Roma boss with sporting director Walter Sabatini a few weeks ago, but they are now likely to hire Barcelona B team boss Luis Enrique.
