Seedorf chose with his heart

Clarence Seedorf insists he signed a contract extension at Milan without being promised first team football next season.

The Dutchman's previous contract with the Rossoneri was set to expire this summer, but he eventually decided to accept a 12-month extension.

"I didn't ask for anything," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I didn't meet with boss Massimiliano Allegri and yet I signed anyway.

"I just wanted to stay here.

"I was given no guarantees. After all, after 900 games in my career, what could I possibly have asked Allegri?

"My heart told me to stay in order to win the Scudetto and the Champions League."
