Udinese say they wouldn't be surprised to see Gokhan Inler remain at the Stadio Friuli for the 2011-12 campaign.
Udinese have agreed a fee with Napoli for the player, but the Swiss international has yet to finalise personal terms.
To confuse matters, it is claimed that Inler would prefer a move to Juventus, but the Old Lady see the Udine outfit's valuation – of around €15m – as too steep.
"This tug of war is going on for a little too long," Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo stated on Monday.
"Having seen these things before I believe that the player will end up staying here in the end…"
