Lazio's bid for Panathinaikos hitman Djibril Cisse could be hijacked by Everton and Aston Villa.
The Biancocelesti are in confirmed negotiations for the former Liverpool striker and were expected to complete the move this week.
Cisse has been offered a four-year contract worth €2.1m per season included bonuses, although it's reported the player is holding out for €3m.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Cisse could reject Lazio if he gets a better wage deal elsewhere.
There is interest from the Premier League with Everton and Aston Villa, while Galatasaray and Lille are also in the running.
