Aurelio De Laurentiis promised more Napoli signings soon, but also hinted “Ezequiel Lavezzi could leave if his buy-out clause is matched.”
The President unveiled Gokhan Inler and Miguel Angel Britos today, while Mario Alberto Santana has reportedly signed a new contract after his deal with Fiorentina expired.
“In the next few days I will present more players and Santana could be there too,” said De Laurentiis.
This could come at a price, though, as the patron refused to rule out Manchester City's swoop for Lavezzi.
“We cannot sell him for less than he is worth. If they want him, then they have to pay his full value.
“Lavezzi is someone who the Napoli fans really like and I work for the supporters. If someone comes along who pays the buy-out clause, then we'd have to evaluate the proposal.”
It is reported Argentine international striker Lavezzi's buy-out clause is €31m, just under £30m.
“We have had a few offers for Walter Gargano and will see what is to be done. There could be a role for Cristiano Lucarelli in the club, but I don't know how much he can still be considered as a player.”
