Baresi backs Allegri's 'reforms'

Milan legend Franco Baresi is fully supportive of the changes Massimiliano Allegri has made to the side.

Allegri has benched Ronaldinho in favour of a more balanced starting XI, which includes three holding midfielders.

Milan are top of the table in Serie A with a three-point cushion over second-placed Lazio.

Speaking to Il Corriere della Sera, Baresi said: "It's certainly a different Milan from the one we are used to.

"It has more balance and solidity. The team works hard and gives less of a spectacle. But up front there are players who can resolve a game."

Milan are back in action at the weekend when they take on Sampdoria at Marassi.
