Aquilani: 'Juve an unmissable chance'

Alberto Aquilani is humble about his contribution to the Juventus cause. “I knew this was an opportunity I could not let pass me by.”

There is a curious statistic that the Bianconeri are unbeaten in the last nine games with Aquilani on the field.

“The team does well, my presence is just a coincidence,” he told Premium Calcio.

“I don't like talking about myself. I will only say that if the side maintains this attitude, then we could achieve something special.”

The midfielder is on loan from Liverpool and has rediscovered his fitness, form and an international call-up.

“I knew this was an opportunity I could not let pass me by and it brought me all the way to the Nazionale.

“I did expect such a positive start to the season, but it has to be said we haven't done anything yet.

“This weekend it will be a tough game against Fiorentina, who are a great side. I think I'll be fit for that match, as I only went off against Genoa due to a slight muscular problem.”
