Robert Acquafresca is on the verge of completing his expected move to Bologna after he left Genoa's pre-season retreat.
The Stadio Dall'Ara outfit are looking for a new option in attack and the former Italian Under-21 international has been targeted.
The 24-year-old returned to Genoa this summer after spending the 2010-11 campaign on loan at former club Cagliari.
He scored eight goals in 37 games for the Sardinian outfit.
According to reports, Bologna could sign the player on loan with the option to buy outright next summer for €5.5m.
