Juventus have formally terminated their contract with €13m signing Tiago Mendes by mutual consent.
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announce the termination by mutual consent of Tiago Cardoso Mendes' contract,” read a statement.
“This operation has a negative effect on the 2010-11 books of €2.8m due to the devaluation of the player.”
The Portuguese midfielder had become something of a weight on the Bianconeri coffers and they struggled to find a buyer.
He was signed from Olympique Lyonnais for around €13m in June 2007, but failed to win over the club, media or fans.
Tiago joined Atletico Madrid on loan in January 2010 and the deal was extended to the end of this season.
