Juventus have no intention of releasing Gigi Buffon or Alberto Aquilani, insists director general Beppe Marotta.
The futures of both players have been put into doubt recently, but Marotta has confirmed that the goalkeeper will remain and the midfielder will be signed outright from Liverpool.
"Although anything can happen in the transfer market, Gigi is a symbol for this team," Marotta noted. "He'll stay, as will Aquilani.
"We've already expressed ourselves on Alberto – we want to take up our option to sign him at the end of the season.
"We have good reason to believe that he is a fundamental player for the future of Juventus."
Buffon, 32, is currently recovering from back surgery and is set to return to action at some point in January. His contract expires in 2013.
Aquilani, 26, is currently on loan from the Premiership side and can be signed on a permanent basis for €16m next summer.
