Inter are interested in Lazio’s Stefan de Vrij, reports suggest, with the defender out of contract at the end of the season.

The Dutch international has retuned to full fitness after a series of knee injuries, playing 14 of 16 Serie A matches so far.

De Vrij is out of contract in the summer and while it’s thought he doesn’t want to walk away from the Biancocelesti for free, there has still been no progress on a renewal.

The issue appears to be that the centre-back wants a relatively low release clause, while the Aquile are trying to set it higher.

Now Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Inter are showing an interest in signing the former Feyenoord man on a free transfer.

They would face competition from Manchester United, Manchester City and also Everton; while Lazio expect an answer on a new contract by Christmas.
