Eusebio Di Francesco criticised Roma for not making more of their advantage and allowing Sassuolo back into the game.

Lorenzo Pellegrini had scored against his former club, but Simone Missiroli cancelled it out and Alessandro Florenzi had a late goal disallowed via VAR for the 1-1 draw.

“We didn’t control the advantage well at all. We could’ve finished it off earlier, but Sassuolo put in a strong performance and we were below par,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We didn’t control the advantage well at all. We could’ve finished it off earlier, but Sassuolo put in a strong performance and we were below par,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“There were too many errors in the final ball and for a team that has lofty ambitions, you cannot afford to do that. We weren’t very sharp, but still created plenty of chances and at the moment are simply not converting our opportunities.”

Edin Dzeko’s goal drought continues, although he too had a goal flagged offside.

“He has immense potential and I’m sorry that he’s struggling to score goals, but he played for the team and did get the ball in the net. He was only marginally offside.

“We should’ve made more of the wings today, as Sassuolo kept going on the counter and we should’ve made more of the space.”

Patrik Schick was again disappointing in a wide role and perhaps doesn’t entirely fit the 4-3-3 formation.

“Tactics need to be practiced in training and Schick hasn’t been working with us for very long due to his fitness problems. All in good time.”
