Milan are reportedly prepared to exchange Mateo Musacchio or Cristian Zapata for Genoa defender Armando Izzo.

According to CalcioNews24, Izzo fits the bill for Milan as a centre-back that is ‘reliable’ and will give them “breathing space”.

The Neapolitan has slotted straight back into Genoa’s defence after returning from a ban for failing to report match-fixing, and the website notes he is also being courted by Fiorentina and Inter.

The Neapolitan has slotted straight back into Genoa’s defence after returning from a ban for failing to report match-fixing, and the website notes he is also being courted by Fiorentina and Inter.

He would command a fee of €10-15m but, as CalcioNews24 explains, Musacchio or Zapata could be sent the other way.

Musacchio was one of Milan’s first signings last summer but was soon overshadowed by Leonardo Bonucci’s arrival, while Zapata has failed to ever establish himself in six years at San Siro.

Napoli’s Nikola Makismovic, meanwhile, has been touted as another possible target for the Rossoneri.
