Midfielder Barella turns 21 next month and has already been linked with numerous clubs, including Roma, Inter, Valencia, Manchester United and Sevilla.

The idea is for Juventus to secure an option for the future, while also setting up the move of other young players between the clubs.

This would include sending Bianconeri youth academy talents like Emil Audero, Alberto Cerri and Fabrizio Caligara to Sardinia, while Barella, Roberto Biancu and Kwang-Son Han would go the other way.

Han is the first ever North Korean striker in Serie A and he is currently impressing on loan at Serie B outfit Perugia.
