Roma defender Leandro Castan is “very happy to start again” from his loan spell at Cagliari and reveals who convinced him to choose Sardinia.

The Brazilian has not played a single minute so far this season, so completed his temporary transfer to Cagliari.

“I am very happy to start again from here. I’ll put myself at the disposal of the Coach, as I always have done in my career,” Castan told Sky Sport Italia.

“I will always fight hard to play and help the team. It wasn’t a sudden decision, as I wanted to play and there was no space for me at Roma.”

Castan had also been heavily linked to Genoa, but eventually chose Cagliari instead.

“When Cagliari showed interest, I immediately said yes, because so many of my teammates and ex-teammates spoke highly of Cagliari, including Danilo Avelar (at Torino) and Radja Nainggolan.”
