Portugal icon Luis Figo has backed countrymen Joao Mario and Andre Silva to come good for Inter and Milan.
Joao Mario has been heavily tipped to leave Inter this month, while Silva has yet to find the back of the net in Serie A, but Figo believes the pair will go on to show their ‘excellent’ ability at San Siro.
“Big teams make strong movements because they have quality players,” he told Corriere della Sera.
“Inter and Milan are historical teams and, if they’re doing well then Italian football benefits.
“Joao Mario? He and Andre Silva are still young, and when you change country, teams and style of play, it takes time.
“They’re two excellent players who haven’t managed to adapt to Italian football yet. Adapting is much easier when things are going well.
“Inter are fine now, and I hope this helps Joao Mario.”
