Crotone director general Raffaele Vrenna confirms “we have a deal for Federico Ricci and then the team will be complete.”

The Calabrese club already brought in Ahmad Benali from Pescara and Marco Capuano from Cagliari in the January transfer window.

“We are waiting to conclude the transfer for Ricci, as we have a deal, and then the team will be complete,” said Vrenna at a Press conference.

Ricci is owned by Sassuolo and came up through the Roma youth academy, but the 23-year-old midfielder is currently on loan at Genoa.

The clubs have agreed to interrupt that loan and move him over to the Stadio Scida for the rest of the season.

It’s a return for Ricci, who already played for Crotone on loan from Roma in 2014-16.

“There could still be a few surprises, but we had to change some things and the change of Coach forced us to accelerate the process.

“We worked early on the market to get the squad sorted and hope that the new buys can immediately make an impact.”

Vrenna did not close the door completely on other departures, though.

“We intend to keep Aleksandar Tonev, but if a good offer arrives for us and the player, then we’ll evaluate it.”
