Inter aren’t giving up on Javier Pastore, but have work to do if they’re to convince Paris Saint-Germain to loan him out.

The Nerazzurri have been heavily linked with the Argentinian midfielder, but they can’t buy him outright this month as they’d risk falling foul of Financial Fair Play.

PSG have the opposite issue, as they must sell players to balance their books after signing Neymar for €222m and committing to buy Kylian Mbappé outright for €180m.

PSG have the opposite issue, as they must sell players to balance their books after signing Neymar for €222m and committing to buy Kylian Mbappé outright for €180m.

Last night Beneamata directors Piero Ausilio and Walter Sabatini stated that a deal was difficult, but Sky Italia reports they are still working on it.

Inter believe that Pastore is keen to return to Italy, and as such they’ll continue to push PSG to allow him to join them.

However, convincing the Ligue 1 leaders to let him leave on loan with only an option to buy remains very difficult.

Indeed, this morning’s edition of L’Équipe reports that PSG are in fact hardening their stance, and are ever more reluctant to let Pastore leave.

While the player wants to play more, which the Nerazzurri have promised him, he won’t risk a showdown with his current club.
