Torino boss Walter Mazzarri admits he is relishing his ‘beautiful’ return to Sampdoria and reuniting with “great player and great man” Fabio Quagliarella.
Mazzarri coached Samp for two seasons between 2007 and 2009, qualifying the Blucerchiati for the UEFA Cup, before taking them to a Coppa Italia Final.
“Transfer window shut? Everyone will be focused on our upcoming games now,” he said at a Press conference.

“We have a good squad. When we intervene in the market, we must be sure that we’re improving our team.
“Belotti and Ljajic? When I send out a team, I try to line up with whoever’s able to keep up for 90 minutes, even more so with the big squad I have here.
“I want us to pick up from our good attacking performance against Benevento, improving the things we did less well defensively.
“Still, it must be said that if it’s true Benevento caused us problems, it’s also true that they’ve been giving hard times to everyone they’ve been playing.
“Back four? We’ll stick with it for as long as things are going well. When our opponents have the ball, I want us to be compact and give little away.
“When we have the ball, we must have our own style and always play to win.
“Ansaldi isn’t back yet, partly because I want to avoid more injuries, but the road remains for us to play with a four-man defence.
“Samp? I’ll experience beautiful emotions at Marassi. I had two beautiful years there, and I’m happy about going back.
“I’ll also reacquaint myself with a great player and great man in Quagliarella, who’s having an extraordinary season under [Marco] Giampaolo.”
