Antonio Conte demanded Chelsea provide “a statement against this speculation” that he’ll be fired and is open to “a new contract.”

There have been reports the manager will be axed if he loses to Watford on Monday night.

In response, he declared this week that he is out of the running for the Italy job because he still has 18 months on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

There have been reports the manager will be axed if he loses to Watford on Monday night.

In response, he declared this week that he is out of the running for the Italy job because he still has 18 months on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

Today, Conte made his message to the club crystal clear in a Press conference.

“I'd like to have a statement to support against this speculation,” said Conte.

“Maybe I'd like that the club prepare a statement to tell the media, 'I trust in his job, I trust in his work'.

“I'm giving all of myself for this club. I think that we are doing the maximum for this club and if the club understands this and the club wants to extend a new contract then we can talk, why not?”

The favourite to replace Conte at Chelsea is former Roma and Barcelona Coach Luis Enrique, although Napoli's Maurizio Sarri has been mentioned for next season.
