After a splendid first half, Lazio capitulated 4-1 to Napoli, but who emerged with the blame and who saved face in our Football Italia ratings?

Words: Ciro Di Brita @Ciruzzo36

Thomas Strakosha – 6

Couldn’t do much with Jose Callejon’s goal, Dries Mertens or the two deflected goals. Despite a 4-1 result, he kept the scoreline down.

Wallace – 6

Unluckily turned Callejon’s cross into his own net.

Stefan de Vrij – 7

Got his toe on the end of Ciro Immobile’s cross to put his side in the lead. Defended stoutly, making some timely interceptions. Tried in vain to hold his defence together as Napoli moved up through the gears.

Stefan Radu – 5

Was defending well for 40 minutes until everything went haywire at the back for his side.

Adam Marusic – 5

Another player that suffered from a game of two halves, was good and solid in the first, ran ragged in the second.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic – 7

Popped up in every corner of the pitch and showed off his bag of tricks. Completely vanished in the second half and Lazio went with him.

Lucas Leiva – 6

Lazio’s midfield was asked to unsettle Napoli’s tempo and to stop Jorginho from getting on the ball. Lucas flew into numerous tackles in the first half and picked himself up a booking, was restricted from then on and faded from the game.

Marco Parolo – 6

Was one of those players asked to get close to Jorginho and to stop him from setting the tempo. Ended up chasing shadows in the second half.

Senad Lulic – 6

Bosnian had his hands full in tracking Callejon’s runs in behind and getting up to support his side when they were attacking.

Luis Alberto – 6

Pinched the ball from Jorginho a couple of times and looked dangerous early in the game when Lazio were in full flight, but disappeared once Napoli took control in the second half.

Ciro Immobile – 6

Sent in a wicked cross that Napoli couldn’t deal with and de Vrij got on the end of, made a couple of energetic runs, but that was that for Lazio’s top goal scorer.

Substitutes:

Jordan Lukaku – 6

Came on for the last half hour to try get his side up the pitch, instead he was pushed back into defending for the rest of the game.

Felipe Caicedo – 5

Striker came on the same time as Lukaku and never got involved.

Nani – N/A

Didn’t get a kick.
