Massimo Oddo was furious with the officials after Udinese’s 2-0 defeat to Torino. “They disallowed a perfectly good goal and there was a foul on theirs.”

The Friulani thought they had taken the lead in Turin when Antonin Barak turned in the rebound from Kevin Lasagna hitting the woodwork, but it was ruled out using VAR for an earlier Maxi Lopez push on Nicolas Burdisso, an incident that seemingly had no effect on the goal situation.

“What happened today was they disallowed a perfectly good goal and there was a foul in the build-up to theirs,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“We started well, creating three or four chances and it was a balanced encounter. We attacked, I thought a draw would’ve been the fair result.

“We’re still doing well, better than expected, and since pulling ourselves out of a complicated situation, have the opportunity to challenge for something that wasn’t in our plans.

“I am not a Coach who pushes forward his ideas if they are not right. I adapt to the players I have to get the best out of them, so all I can do coming in mid-season is put players in their correct roles.”
