Federico Bernardeschi is highly unlikely to feature against Tottenham in the Champions League, as the Juventus striker’s knee injury is serious.

The former Fiorentina man limped off during last week’s 1-0 Serie A win over Torino with a sprained ankle.

Tests had been expected to ascertain ligament damage over the last few days, but the ankle was so swollen that the medics haven’t been able to use those instruments yet.

As the delays continue, it is extremely unlikely Bernardeschi will be ready to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on March 7.

They need to overturn a 2-2 first leg draw, which puts Spurs up with two away goals.
