Pioli: 'Fiorentina cannot be satisfied'

Stefano Pioli concedes Fiorentina “cannot be satisfied” with their season so far and can begin to turn the tide against Chievo.

It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“There are difficulties, because Chievo are very experienced and are starting to get important players back from injury. We must be precise in our passing, as that will make the difference,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“The most important thing is that we continue to create scoring opportunities, make the most of the characteristics of the players and maintain a balance.

“There is too much talk about the future and the past, but we are in the present and that’s what matters. These are decisive months to determine how good our project really is.

“We cannot be satisfied with our current position in the table and have the chance to improve. There’s no point making comparisons with the old Fiorentina, as this is a new side.

“The club owners continue to tell me that the team will be reinforced to allow Fiorentina to challenge for the positions where they belong.

“If the players weren’t motivated, it would mean we’d got everything wrong. They wear an historic jersey, we don’t like our current position and know we are gambling with the current and future campaign.”

Milan Badelj and Nikola Milenkovic are suspended, but Vincent Laurini returns in defence.

“The options to replace Badelj are Bryan Dabo, Sebastien Cristoforo or Jordan Veretout, but I’ll evaluate that tomorrow.”

Fiorentina squad for Chievo: Astori, Benassi, Biraghi, Chiesa, Cristoforo, Dabo, Dias, Dragowski, Eysseric, Falcinelli, Gaspar, Ghidotti, Laurini, Lo Faso, Olivera, Pezzella, Saponara, Simeone, Sportiello, Thereau, Veretout, Hugo, Zekhnini
