Hakan Calhanoglu said Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso “changed me, he tells me to play free of pressure.”
The summer signing had struggled to adapt to Serie A under Vincenzo Montella, but has flourished since Gattuso took over.
“Gattuso changed me,” confessed Calhanoglu to Calciomercato.it.
“He talks to me so much and tells me to play free of pressures in my mind. He’s a great Coach, and has changed the mentality of the club.”
The Rossoneri drew 0-0 with Lazio over two legs and in extra time, but won the sudden death penalty shoot-out to set up a Coppa Italia Final showdown with Juventus on May 9.
“After beating Roma here on Sunday, it was tough to play 120 minutes. Both sides played well and when it comes to penalties, anything can happen.”
