The Aquile have already beaten Juve twice this season, in the Italian Super Cup back in August and becoming the first Serie A side to conquer the Juventus Stadium in 57 games.

At the same time, this week they crashed out of the Coppa Italia after a sudden death penalty shoot-out semi-final defeat to Milan.

“We are fired up and want to get straight back out there to have our say,” Parolo told Lazio Style Radio.

“Milan did well to defend and we were a little unlucky. We’ve created a strong bond with the fans and must go to salute the Curva Nord before kick-off more often. We’ve got to give our all for them, the way they do for us.

“We know that Juventus are difficult and they want to beat us for revenge after the last two meetings. The important thing will be stepping on to the field with great concentration.”

Stefan de Vrij has refused a contract extension with Lazio in order to move on to bigger things, but Parolo does not share that view.

“Lazio are a point of arrival, not a stepping stone. I want to leave a tangible mark on this club’s history and help this side consistently finish in the top four.

“At the start of the season, many assumed we’d be in the lower reaches of the table, and that really wound me up. We might not be at the top in terms of budget or expenses, but must acknowledge the path we are taking, as we keep raising the bar.”

The Biancocelesti are also in the Europa League Round of 16, where they will face Dinamo Kiev.

“We haven’t studied them yet, but if we play like Lazio, we’ll certainly score goals. It’d be fascinating to play in the Europa League Final.”
