Born and raised in Germany with Jerome, the older boy of the Boatengs opted to represent Ghana's national team and enjoyed two spells at San Siro, shinning the brightest in his first experience.

As we celebrate his birthday, we remember his top five moments in which he stole the show from the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his prime.

The 14-minute hat-trick against Lecce

Following three goals from Guillermo Giacomazzi, Massimo Oddo and Carlos Grossmüller for Lecce in the first half, Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri threw in Boateng to revive their chances and the Ghanaian star didn't disappoint.

The midfielder unleashed two unstoppable strikes, followed by a third goal tapped past Massimiliano Benassi, for Boateng to become only the second player to ever score a hat-trick in the second half of a Serie A game.

Barcelona in the Champions League

Although they eventually lost the game 3-2 to Barcelona, the masterpiece offered by Boateng in that game will forever be carved in the memories of the Rossoneri fans.

He received the ball, brought it down and dazzled the crowd with his scintillating skills, beating Eric Abidal and leaving Victor Valdes helpless with a precise shot.

Juventus in the Trofeo Berlusconi

Although it was not the most vital goal, knowing the nature of the pre-season competition, Boateng had more than meets the eye when he fired that stunner of a volley.

Less than 10 minutes into the game, Ignazio Abate's pinpoint cross was slammed by the Ghanaian at the edge of the box right into the bottom corner, in a venomous bang that even Gianluigi Buffon could do nothing about.

BATE Borisov in the Champions League

Milan had only one goal past shot-stopper Aleksandr Gutor that night and a lot more was expected by the fans in a home tie with the weakest link in the group.

However what the Prince pulled out in the 70th minute was a moment of unforgotten royalty, as he blasted a screamer from outside the box, hitting the underside of the crossbar and sinking into the net.

Arsenal in the Champions League

It was a game where Milan dominated Arsenal, bagging four goals in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, and Boateng's virtuoso display marked the opening goal of that night.

The Ghanaian collected a ball from Antonio Nocerino on his chest and banged a stunning volley past Wojciech Szczesny to open the path for Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to record a historic win for the Diavolo. Perhaps this scenario is the one Milan fans are eager to replay this coming Thursday.
