Both Cagliari and Fiorentina have decided to retire the number 13 shirt formerly worn by Davide Astori.
The Viola captain, who spent six seasons with the Isolani, was tragically found dead on Sunday morning, having suffered a suspected heart attack in his sleep.
Today Fiorentina have confirmed that they will retire the number 13 shirt, accompanying a picture of Astori with the caption “this shirt is always for you”.

Cagliari also confirmed that “to honour and make indelible the memory of Davide Astori” the two clubs decided together to retire his shirt.
The centre-back’s funeral is to be held on Thursday.
