Chievo equalled their club record with a seventh consecutive away defeat in Serie A.
Their form has been dismal, managing one win and two draws in their last 13 rounds, and no clean sheets in 10.
“We had an injury crisis at one point in the season and that affected us psychologically. Today we were unable to get the game back on track after going a goal behind and we need to work on that.
“We have to find a different mentality that can allow us to get out of this hole.”
