Sampdoria’s Duvan Zapata wants his side to bounce back from last weekend’s surprise defeat to Crotone against Inter.

The two sides lock horns at Marassi, with the Blucerchiati eight points and two places behind their opponents.

“We want to win today, as it’s very important for us,” the striker told Inter TV and Mediaset Premium ahead of kick-off.

“That counts more than personal satisfaction for a goal. We’re coming off the setback in Crotoneand it hurts to lose like that, so we need to get back on track and it’s a good opportunity to prove to ourselves that we’ve still got a lot to say this season.”

Zapata, who has nine goals from 24 appearances this campaign, believes home advantage could prove key for his side as they look to revive their bid to qualify for Europe.

“It’ll be difficult, but we’ve got the fans on our side and that’s an extra advantage. Inter won’t want to lose either, so it’ll be a fascinating game, but if we put in the right attitude and determination, we can win.”
