Stefano Pioli won’t rule out a push for Europa League places, but tries to keep Fiorentina focused after their 2-1 win away to Torino.

The Viola saw Jordan Veretout’s early penalty saved and he made up for it with a solo strike, but only Cyril Thereau’s stoppage-time spot-kick secured the victory.

“It would’ve been a pity not to win this game considering all we put into it,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“It would’ve been a pity not to win this game considering all we put into it,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

This was their second straight win, but the first away from home, allowing a slight return to normality after the death of captain Davide Astori a fortnight ago.

“We are going through a difficult time, but it is best for us to celebrate like this and let it out. The victory was important and my lads are working with great commitment.

“Davide was the first to believe in our work. It’s only natural that we miss him in training and the locker room, but we feel he is within us.”

Could Fiorentina even make a late push for Europa League qualification?

“When in the past we considered aiming higher, we tended to lose our way, so we just promised ourselves we’d continue giving our all until the end of the season. It’s a complicated fixture list, as we have to face many teams desperate for points to avoid relegation.”
