First things first, Marotta was asked about the reported dinner meeting between Dybala and Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone.

“It makes me smile that people talk about some dinner between Dybala and Simeone,” the director general told Mediaset Premium.

“I’m hardly surprised that in a Madrid restaurant, it can happen than our striker and another team’s Coach could be sitting nearby. These things happen regularly in Milan, Turin or Rome too.”

If Dybala’s future seems confident, then the same cannot be said of Asamoah, whose contract will expire in June and has reportedly already agreed a move to Inter.

“If a player wants to leave, whether they are under contract or not, we try to make them happy. If Asamoah has already agreed a transfer elsewhere, and that doesn’t seem to be the case, it’d only be logical.

“We don’t try to convince players who no longer feel happy to continue here, we just let them go.”

Tonight’s clash sees the Bianconeri take on Milan and their former defender Leonardo Bonucci, but is also the chance to break away at the top after Napoli drew 1-1 at Sassuolo.

“Every game is important at this stage of the season and we must try to win them all. You always step on to the pitch motivated, regardless of other results.

“I have a good rapport with Bonucci, but haven’t met him today. In football things happen and you just have to deal with them.”
