It was a real relegation tussle at Marassi and a controversial one too, as the Grifone were awarded a spot-kick that was – after four minutes of technical problems – revoked.

Gianluca Lapadula’s header gave them the lead anyway, but an equally debatable penalty was converted by Cagliari.

The Sardinians were also unlucky, as Leonardo Pavoletti hit the woodwork against his former club, but in the final minute Medeiros came up with a stunner, controlling a tricky ball from the edge of the box and curling in.
