“I don’t know if it was my last derby. I owe so much to the Preziosi family and to these fans. I don’t know what the future holds, we’ll have to see in the summer,” the Italy international told Mediaset Premium.

“We were under more pressure than Samp, but that’s also just our way of playing. Once again I must thank all my teammates, from the strikers to midfielders and defenders, for this clean sheet.

“We had hoped to win and could’ve done better, as it wasn’t our best performance, but we’ll now try to end the season in a dignified manner.

“The objective is to amass over 40 points and we can do it, transforming a pretty shaky campaign into a good one.”
