Sir Alex is considered to be one of the greatest Coaches of all time, but the date of his meeting with the Roma President isn’t the most opportune.

It was 11 years ago today that Ferguson’s Manchester United team thrashed Roma 7-1 in the Champions League, a fact which hasn’t gone unnoticed by Lazio fans, with some joking that Pallotta must be a secret fan of the Aquile.

Following that result, Biancocelesti fans sent Ferguson seven cases of chianti for, in their words, “hammering the second team of Rome”.
