Milan’s team doctor has given an update on Alessio Romangoli and Andrea Conti, with the former to be evaluated again in “10-12 days”.

Romangoli went off injured in the draw with Sassuolo, and it was confirmed yesterday that he has a thigh injury and won’t be fit to face Napoli this weekend.

“Alessio suffered a muscular strain in the early stages of Sunday’s game,” doctor Stefano Melegati told the Rossoneri’s official website.

“He stopped quickly and the injury turned out to be a small muscular injury, what we’d consider to be a 3A of the first grade, small and with just a few fibres involved.

“It’s an injury which will nonetheless be dealt with very cautiously, as we have important commitments in the near future.

“A new evaluation will be made in 10-12 days, and that evaluation will allow us to be more precise about the recovery time.”

Melegati also gave an update on Conti, who has been forced to undergo a second knee operation, to stabilise the joint after cruciate ligament surgery.

“Andrea is doing really well, both from a clinical point of view and mentally. It’s one week since the operation, things are proceeding well and smoothly.

“It’s of course very early to talk about recovery times, he’s facing various steps on his path to recovery, but I’d say it’s all good.”
